Making a good FSX video

Hi guys, I recordeed a FSX movie today using fraps, it was an IGS approach runway 13 at Kai Tak with a 777. As I thought the approach and landing was pretty good I decided to make a movie out of it using different moviedirectors. I used first Cyberlink Powerdirector 8 which in my thinking are superB. Then I added some effect with Adobe After effects. But there's the problem: When I produced it after Cyberlink the video size was 340mb and the quality as good as it could be. It was in AVI. format. When I was done with the effects I exported the movie in the format AVI. and it ended up with very, very poor quality and the size was now 100mb. I tried to export it again but now in a so called "quicktime-file". It ended up with a size at about 49,1mb even though it had better quality than the AVI. file- still very poor quality. Here's a screenshot first from the AVI. file after produced in the Cyberlink Director 8 and then exported from after effects: they both look like very poor quality but that's because I ran the video player in full screen when took the picture!

SORRY FOR THE BIG PICTURES!

I would also like other people's suggestions about how to make THE perfect FSX video. BTW I will upload my video when I'm finished on youtube and then put a link in this thread!

Hmmm. I see your problem now Isak, most Youtubers seem just to use fraps and it pulls off for them when editing with movie maker or sony vegas.

Also, I like to watch the videos that have some intersting approaches... like this one ^ and that include ATC too.

Yep okey Christian, the ATC is there because I use a real recording instead of the default sound, I took the sound record from Beoing 747 IGS 13 approach uploaded on youtube by AIRBOYD.TV. Geoff: There's not enough options for me to make a really good movie!=)

I think it ended up ok. If you play it in 720p. Not so good quality as I wanted it to be... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQ7MnqgDk0U

Isak, I've always saved as wmv and 1024 lines to good effect.

Your vid looks really pixelated, what did you output to?

I capture with fraps and i use Pinnacle Studio 14 HD to arrange my Videos in a sequence them I render it to MPEG2 format ,it seems to come out great ,though its hard to get rid of the "Jaggies" at times.

Yes I also use fraps for recording but I like the Cyberlink Producer:) It's just the Aae that I have problem with. How much does the Pinnacle Video editing program cost? And what is "Jaggies"?
