| Route Planning ?!? | |
Claudio Pais ![]() 6th Feb 2011 14:20:32 | Hey! first time poster on here, but you guys are great so I thought I'd ask.
I am relatively new to sim flying in UK airspace, and I was wondering if there were any good route planning websites, where you could enter a route e.g EGCC-EGKK and it would give you a realistic route. a bit like simroutes.com for the US, but for the brits ;) Thanks :) Claudio. |
Geoff Server ![]() 6th Feb 2011 14:31:13 | Just use the FSopen pilot assist software flight planner and it will in most cases give you a route to feed into your GPS or FMC. That is the easy way or you could go to..
http://www.euroutepro.com/fp/fp_main.php?icaosearch=1&site=se&language=en&dep=EGKK&arr=egcc&search=%3E%3E and type in your airports. Good Luck |

Depending on your preference these are the best two options! Combine it with a sensible fuel planner such as: http://fuel.aerotexas.com/ and you've got a realistic (and quick!) route plan. |
Joe Lewis ![]() 6th Feb 2011 17:08:31 | If you're using one of the proper planes (PMDG, LDS), they come with a fuel planning table/guide, optimum cruising speed and altitude guide/tables.
Is how the real airline pilots do it to my knowledge! (G/A doesn't count! You just top 'er up until you feel it's enough, LOL) |
Claudio Pais ![]() 7th Feb 2011 17:51:57 | Hey!
Thanks for the great responses, they helped me a lot. The link that Geoff Server posted is very useful but of course, could've used the integrated route finder :/ ooppps. Fuel planning is not normally an issue for me, but has to be said having realistic fuel quantities adds loadsa realism. Claudio. |
