Just in case you didn't get to speak to Paul; heres the answer.

(After you modify it) save the text document on your desktop and then copy and paste it into the aircraft's file- I have to do this with every single modification to any aircraft.cfg file :/

As far as I know this is a VISTA thing, so if you don't use Vista then just disregard the above and wait for a more qualified person to answer :p

Hmmmmm. When you want to save it (To your desktop) Just put '.cfg' on the end. So type in its name as 'aircraft.cfg'

If that doesnt work.. I can email you mine?

Paul to save any FSX config. file on vista, you must untick the box in your USER ACCOUNT CONTROL settings, click OK and it will ask you to restart your comp now or later, your choice. After you've restarted your comp, you can then do what's needed for FSX and save it. Then RE-TICK your user account control box, restart your comp again and your item will appear in the aircraft library.

WARNING: DO NOT BE CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET AFTER YOU HAVE UNTICKED YOUR USER ACCOUNT CONTROL BOX AS UNWANTED GUESTS MAY TRY TO ACCESS YOUR MACHINE AND/OR INJECT A VIRUS ON YOUR MACHINE.

I think if you save to your desktop first then move it into the directory you don't need to disable UAC.

I always had it turned off on Vista but if you do frequent dodgy web sites its advisable to leave it on!
