Only An ATC that's rank 4+ can change your rank. When they are controlling just ask to be assets. 2nd rank is navigation of the airfield, correct Phrasiology during communications and basic knowledge of an aerodrome chart. 3rd Rank is being able to do an ILS landing. You must intersept the localised on your first attempt otherwise you will have to be vectored out and then back in for another attempt. NOTE, you must be able to do VFR curcits before you can get this. 4th rNk is use of VOR's DVOR's NDB's to navigate, preferably via the use of frequencies rather than GPS (that's boring!) 5th Rank (Senior Pilot) you must be able to use SID's and STAR's. Not by using an FMC but by the charts provided by NATs! How we all should fly! :p We have Mentors that would be more than happy to help you. I'm in the States for A while so I'm useless but when I'm back I can help. We are hoping to start the FSOpen Flight Accademy very very soon where we will be doing a virtual version of the PPL.
