Hi Guys Blackpool Airshow was today and with the excitement of the show still in my mind I was eager to bring it back to flight sim I was wondering if FSopen could have an airshow in the near future, I mean its a thought as we have had such success from other events. We could have individual groups of 3 or 4 in each flying different aircraft and showing of their skills either in formation or individually. :)

Thats a really great idea to be honest! We'd have to have the Extra300s and reno air racers allowed in i spose, also the f18's we'd need if we wanted to do displays... We could try and train a fs open arrows team.. LOL

Hi.

We are already in the planning stage of the show and will hopefully be ready for winter time.

Pop me an email with what aircraft you would like to fly. Must be free to download!

Joe :)

Hello, don't email me at the email above now. The hosting company has gone down and I have been informed I have lost it. In teamspeak under the Training Department is my email. Forgot the one that's there but It works. :)

Ok no problem I am in the middle of looking for good downloads for memebrs to use.

Aircraft I have found so far:

Hawk
A330 refueller
Fairchild A-10 Thunderbolt II

Note: Aircraft requests are dependant on the actual download weather its available or weather the overall experience is good. I will be testing these by flying them and getting a feel for how the fly and taxi ect.

Many thanks

I have just found an excellent download of the Nimrod, with sound and a really good (functional) Virtual Cockpit. Flies really well a good addition to the Airshow.

I have a decent harrier thats freeware, panels are a bit corny but it flies beautifully once you master the V/STOL! A cadet from my squadron has built an amazing tornado and he's promised me to post it for freeware download for FSopen members only, don't know how he's gonna do it but hopefully he'll get it up there. Also have a tucano (RAF fighter jet trainer) but it has no sound and a UKMIL Grob Tutor (AEF a/c for the air cadets and initial pilot trainer for the RAF) which seems to be decent. Also got a UKMIL chinook which is fab with alsorts of options for opening doors and winches etc, think it has a capability for cargo nets too.

Excellent well If anyone is interested at looking for aircraft or they have a favourite aircraft they would like to fly please share with us as I am really committing to do this air show. At the moment I am improving the aircraft.cfg files of some aircraft adding smoke effects for air displays also I have found bomb effects and flares for fighters.

I will keep posting on my progress :)

140 views??!! I think it's a great idea!! After development time the concept will become clearer and people will understand it more.
