| NVIDIA 8 & 9 series cards getting fried | |
John Elliott  23rd Oct 2011 16:45:13 | In my 4yr old system, I have two Geforce 9800 GT cards and, all of a sudden, they are not working and I cant use FSX.
There are a lot of people worldwide reporting similar failures after downloading the most recent drivers. •People are having their cards die. •This is for a variety of cards and a variety in operating systems (Vista 32/64 and Windows 7 32/64). •The Problem? Graphics are messed up with higher end cards, or the card refusing to work on lower end cards, causing the default VGA to kick in (640x480, 4-bit) •What do we all have in common with this problem? We recently downloaded and applied the 275.33 driver for our cards. No one knows if this is the cause but if any one experiences similar (or knows how to rememdy this), would be very pleased to hear from you. |

i wanted to let you know i've got exactly the same problem, and exactly the same card, 9800 GT. i think you're right because a 9800 GT doesnt have any problems in my opinion, it must be the driver. Didnt think there was more people having the same problems :P'in either case i know what i'm gonna do, revert to the last driver!! xD Tx for the info mate helps me out and i think alot of others as well!! Mike Spink  24th Oct 2011 16:02:58 | That might just be my problem aswell, got the same graphics card. In nearly all games it crashes after about 2 minutes.
Think I will try what Martijn suggests and go back to an earlier release of the driver. Will let you know the outcome. |
