Hi Craig,

Can you help me out? It's been a long time since I've downloaded any aircraft/textures etc into FSX and, basically, I've forgotten how it should be done. (It's an age thing I think).

Anyhow, I've managed to get the B1900D into my "hangar" (actually I've ended up with 5 - a supposedly improved version of an AirNZ model, 2x USair and 2x United Express obtained from the link you provided above) but they're all the featureless white variety when I select them. I haven't messed with the config files yet - all I did was unzip the files as stated directly into my main FSX folder. I running Vista and I am the administrator.

Can you write a little step-by-step ditty on here so I can experience the wonderful tan and grey paint job as seen above for myself.

Thanks mate, regards

M

Craig, disregard my post above - the old Direct10X box was ticked and it had escaped my notice. Unticked and all sorted now. M :)

Mick did you get the FSO texture installed? No problem in writing you a little how to. Think I might add a text file in my downloads explaining. Will help all I think.

H'o mate,

Yep, all worked after I'd added the right bits to the config file, thanks mate. I reckon there's still some value in writing an "idiots guide" for downloading and installing any aircraft/texture files though - newcomers (and oldcomers like me) would find it useful I'm sure.

Hope to be joining you in those VA short hops as soon as I get a couple of hours free though buddy, Thanks again, M.

"Think I might add a text file in my downloads explaining."

Sorry Craig I just realized what you meant. I was thinking more of having some sort of step by step guide here on the website (perhaps in the Downloads section on the FS Skins page?) - the only problem with text files incorporated in zip files is you need to be able to download them first which indicates you already knows more or less what to do.

My problem is that I can never remember where these files need to be unzipped to (eg into the main FSX program folder or in sim objects, etc etc). Also few lines on how to amend an aircraft config file in order to display the different textures would be brilliant for the next time I forget what to do! :) M
