New VA pilot - what's my first job?

H'o fella's, I'm back and almost ready to fly but I'm stuck. How do I go about helping Goffa with his cargo contracts in Alaska or those prop hops in the Beech1900 out of LAX?

I'm all registered and the FSO paint's dry on the newly installed Beech but what do I do now? Assume you are explaining to a complete VA novice who knows nothing about VAFs (purely for the benefit of other inexperienced members who might stumble upon this thread you understand, ahem). Alright I admit it - I know nothing about VAFs or what it does or how it works. All I know is that I'm going to need V5 when it comes out tomoz and that's about it.

Looking forward to a comprehensive "idiots guide" for a comprehensive idiot! Thanks chaps,

M

Hi mick,

Rumours suggest that VAFS 5 will be quite different from VAFS 4 so I'd strongly recommend waiting for its release as then everybody will need an "idiots guide."

Thanks

when the new vafs 5 comes out the airline has to pay for all tyre's ,undercarriages if the landing is heavy & it goe's away for 2days & cannot be flown for that time
I DON'T NO IF WE CAN AFFORD YOU MICK!!!!!!!!

Oh Mick, it will be good to see you back on FSopen.
We have ordered, in expectation of your return, and you using VAFS5, a number of sets of 'all terrain' tyres for your 737. So, should not be a problem.....

It's almost Friday, yay! With luck I think I might get an hour or two to make my maiden voyage with the VA tomoz but I'll be stuck on the ground unless someone is kind enough to answer my original post.

Forget your posh 737's for the time being, I can just about cope with the B1900, so how do I go about arranging that? I notice there's a 737 sched from EGBB to NH which is a route I fancy as a starter but only in the Beech, (I'd end up in the dunes at the end of BPL's runway if I tried it in a 737)! Is it possible to alter the aircraft for a route in this way and if so, does it need approval etc?

VAFs5 is downloaded and seems good to go - I have no money and I live in a shack (I'm impressed with the realism already).

Looking forward to all your helpful tips - remember to keep it simple though, I'm as thick as mince when it comes to all this malarkey.

Thanks again and I hope to catch you if you're on tomorrow evening. Cheers, M
