I'm using the Mionix Keid 20, they're are fairly cheap (around 80 GBP) they're just excellent, I strongly recommend you these. I've used them on FSX and Battlefield 3 LANs for 5-6 hours straight and never had any problems with them :)

Got mine from Tescos. Padded earphones + microphone + adjustable volume. All for less than £20 if I remember correctly. Not USB though - has two separate jacks.

Oops sorry John (Elliot) didn't saw that you had written "USB" headphones. The mionix is plugged in with 3.5mm audio cables into the audiojack, but I use them with my keyboard so I end up with the same possibilitis as you do when plugging them directly in with USB to computer.

Thanks for your help guys and I've spent most of the day checking reviews of these and others out. I've had to make an immediate decision (as the sellotape holding my current headet together is breaking down). I've gone for this one on offer at Flightstore..

One particular reason is the breakaway connector as I keep trapping cables and tugging at the headset.

Will let you know how I get on. Might be helpful to keep suggestions coming on this thread as it might help others when choosing a headset

A very well known Youtube video producer made a review of these headphones once and I'll quote him "I will try to record the sound of these headphones, the sound is so amazing"... He is known for having very good reviews. It looks nice and according to his review it's a very good pair of headphones!

Thanks Isak.. yes there are some really good reviews around about these headphones. I have found that it pays to shop around as well, as prices can vary quite a bit.
