| GMC and AFIS Controller Training Upcoming / Controller Mentoring Available | |
Christian Smith ![]() 9th Apr 2012 15:06:30 | Hello all.
Ground Movement Control We are currently planning a ground control session available as in introduction to ATC for all members who do not have an ATC mentor, but who wish to learn a little more. If you would be interested in this event, please let me know so that we can gauge the number interested, for the number of mentors needed. Aerodrome Flight Information Service (AFIS) FSOpen are seeking new controllers to provide AFIS for VFR Fields for events and to aid the VFR Flight Club. Using the radio callsigh "*** Information", AFIS is the term used to describe the provision of information useful for the safe and efficient conduct of aerodrome traffic at those aerodromes designated for use by international general aviation where the appropriate air traffic services authority determines that the provision of aerodrome control service is not justified. If you are interested in AFIS Services, be this as a brand new controller, or as an ADC looking to broaden your skills please speak to an ATCO1 Controller. Controller Mentoring Just as a reminder, for members seeking to broaden their skills and enroll onto the ATCO Mentoring System, see the 'FSOpen Pilots' tab on the site, and the 'ATC Training Room' on teamspeak for more details. Regards, Christian |
