David Bartlam ![]() 29th Jul 2012 16:37:40 | Hi guys. I've designed 2 airports over the last 2 days which are available here:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/o9hzzzm9fs6imxp/Gi4TOLM3Hi Please feel free to comment. The RAF Portreath (RAFP) airport was my first attempt. I was using this airport as a way of getting to know the software I was using. It has disused runways and 2 with ILS capabilities. It also has a fully functioning tower service in Free Flight. It is not finished as there are still alot of things that I need to adjust (runway approach lights on the cliff etc). So please don't be too critical ;) The second one is Penzance Heliport (PZHE). There is only an NDB for this site in FSX. Now, I have only used the scenery library in fsx to create this so the hangar and terminal are not a true representation of the actual heliport. For anyone that has used GMAX before, I'm sure you'll understand how difficult it is to design buildings/aircraft etc. Anyway, please feel free to install to your addon scenery folders and take a look :) |

David Bartlam ![]() 30th Jul 2012 17:38:38 | Thank you Pete :) I haven't got to grips with GMax yet (Very complicated software) and so I havent yet been able to create realistic and photo-like hangars but I'm currently sifting through many tutorials to get up to scratch.
I purchased Just Flights Penzance Heliport this morning... I wasnt that impressed. The only thing, in my eyes which was better than mine was the fact that the hangar and terminal are realistic and they have wooden fence around the main road. But I was quite happy with the way it turned out. The RAF Portreath one, I went a bit crazy on and thusfar it is far from complete. I added taxiways, dispersals and hangars etc as unfortunately, I was unable to find any decent images of the buildings online. The advantage of holding an armed forces ID card means I can take a drive down to the airfield and get some proper photos. That was my first airport where I just got to grips with the software. Next on my hitlist is Open International, an airport made specifically for thos on FSOpen :) Thank you for the feedback |
