Hi all...

I have now figured out how to use the Airport Design software and have now got to grips with the mechanics behind it. I'm still rather rusty using GMax but, I'm getting better. As some of you are aware, I have since created an Airport (RAF Portreath) and a heliport (Penzance) from which you can download from Dropbox. The link is in the pilots forum. I thank those that have taken the time to install and fly the airports, I've recieved some good feedback which has enabled me to develop the airports and phase out any discrepancies or mistakes made. All feedback, whether good or bad is gratefully recieved.

For my next project... I would like your opinion please..

I want to build Open International. This will be an airport based in the United Kingdom (In the midlands somewhere I should imagine) designed... For you! I aim to build an airport able to deal comfortably with aircraft up to an A380. I will be designing and building hangars etc with the FSopen slogans etc and make it as realistic as possible. To make it more personal, For anyone that declares interest in the airport, I will build you a custom built parking spot, complete with your own name visible to all who use the airport.. This will be an ideal place to give the Virtual Airlines a home base.

I'd just like your ideas really. I've started getting into the whole designing thing and would see this as an ideal project which will have a personal touch benefitting the FSO community.

Fire away with your thoughts please

Love the idea but to put a downer on things regarding the VA. there will be no ICAO code for the airport so it will barley get used. However I would suggest that you uses an airport such as Carlisle in Cumbria and massively extend it to allow flight for the va but again it sounds great
Count me in FS005

Very good point... I'm now going to have a look on Plan G and Google Earth to find a suitable location. I want it to be quite isolated with plenty of land... I've been asked not to make an airport just yet... I'm going to make one but not issue it or make it public until the managers have had a chance to see it and try it out. They take quite a long time to design and build (especially the buildings) so I'm going to start it today as I'm due back to Northolt in 10 days so I won't have a chance after that.

The airport is going to be a VA HQ and a training centre for new FS Pilots and Air Traffic Controllers. Does anyone have any suggestions for what could be on site for training purposes?
