Does FSopen allow players to see add-on aircrafts of other people?

Let's say I'm flying a default A321 with Alitalia texture. Does the server system allow others to see the livery or is it replaced by default texture?

If it's impossible, then how can virtual airlines exist? I won't be able to see Emirates livery of Virtual Emirates Airline if this is the case.

Nathan,

Good question well phrased. Textures are just files that are saved on your computer. You will see them but if no one else on your server has the same livery installed, they will see you in a different skin.

Virtual airlines exist because there are skins which are placed on the VA websites etc which are downloaded by each pilot. Therefore, they will be able to see the textures your using because they also have them installed.

This goes for aircraft aswell, for example, if I had a Sea King helicopter that I was flying around in, and you didn't have it installed on your computer, you would most probably see me as a floating FA18

I hope that's answered your question :)
