Fred Parkinson 18th Feb 2010 12:49:07 | Hi All,
I have been experimenting with some of the UK2000 Airport free scenery for FSX. When controlling I found the view from the tower was not very good due to the addon tower being taller. To fix this you need to change the eyepoint in the tower configuration file. To do this: First locate the file, this is the default location. C:ProgramFiles/Microsoft Games/ Microsoft Flight Simulator X/SimObjects/Misc/ControlTower The file you need is sim.cfg. Make a backup and then open the file using notepad. search for the sub section called [views] then locate the line that looks like this --- eyepoint= 0.0, 0.0, 0.0 change the last group of o's to read something like this eyepoint= 0.0, 0.0, 50.0 as you can see I added a 5 makeing the last group 50.0 this is the height above the basic tower view. experiment with the figure to set the view to what you need. NOW SAVE THE FILE You should now be able to see all around the airport and into some of the areas that were normally out of sight, especially if using addon scenery. Westie |

How do you do that? westie |
Richard Stuchfield 18th Feb 2010 17:58:31 | when you're in the control tower: go to the 'world' menu, then map.
There is a little aeroplane that you can move about and you should be able to change the altitude too. It's supposed to be for pilots to position their planes but you can use it to position your viewpoint as an ATCO too. Richard |
