Callum Blumire 1st Mar 2010 04:01:52 | Just thinking under the same idea of building a catalouge for the aircraft the same could be done for scenery...we are most commonly at Gatwick, Birmingham and Mancherster so i suggest everybody getting the freeware at UK200 for Manchester and Gatwick
and http://www.egbbscenery.co.uk/download.htm for birmingham Cheers Callum x |
Richard Stuchfield 1st Mar 2010 11:21:01 | Although that link to the EGBB scenery looks nice, I've used it and it really hits the framerates. The UK2000 scenery is availalbe for EGBB too - just has the blue square on the runway - no framerate hit for that one at all (at least for me there wasn't) |
Franklyn_ Fisher_ ![]() 1st Mar 2010 15:40:25 | you could try the excellent freeware BB scenery by Phil Reynolds, versions for FSX and FS9, on the Flightsim.com site.
Up to date, and FR friendly. |
Richard Stuchfield 1st Mar 2010 18:17:08 | Franklyn.
That's the scenery that I was talking about. Killed my framerates - have heard others say it did the same too. |
Dave Wave ![]() 1st Mar 2010 19:33:50 | I found the EGBB scenery was ok if you remove the tress from the scenery folder.

But then I put all the .agn tree files in the addon scenery/texture folder, got hundreds in there. Around 14.5 mbs worth. My addon scenery folder weights in at around 750 mb not to mention the Horizon AIO at 66 gb. And the Static Objects Library alone accounts for 290 mb. Scenery complexity at dense, autogen none (don't need it with all those .agn files)and Horizon. Traffic off, because I fly online all the time, and it is off by default. Nice to see all those AIs buzzing around FSCommander and Plan-G, but makes it difficult to spot the real ones. My machine was top of the range 12 months ago, but still have not got all those sliders up on full. FRs around 50-120 in window mode and 90-200 in full screen. But then I do not fly those complex AC anyway, prefer single/twin props and mid range jets like the EMB190. Just cannot get to grips with the complex FMC, use FSC instead. |
