I am probabaly being a bit thick here
But I am having trouble working out how to connect.
I think I need a blow by blow tutorial on what is needed and where, and connecting to your server.
Downloaded the plugins, and think I have installed them correctly.
Unable to find the wanted info in the forums.
A lets get connected page for thickos would ease the pain.
(Probably too used to the click here and I am in on IVAO).

Best thing to do Franklyn is go to the homepage and scroll down to the active servers and click on the team-speak link shown below. ( Make sure you have a mic. and team-speak 2 installed

However I do agree with you on the tutorial!

Hope to see you around, James

I forgot to mention the reason for doing this!

(If you come into the Teamspeak server we can help you to set-up by talking you through it)

Ok, I think I have cracked it now, did not have pilot assistant properly installed first, sorted. Found out how to log into the session as well, but stayed away from the EGPF session so as not to interfer with the current session that was running.
Will need to log in wil one or two plyers to check I have eyeball with them.

Also had a go at setting up a Tower, after being used to a full screen view (24 inch LCD) IVAO screen, disappointing. But I will have another play with it.
One thing, anyone know how to raise the eyepoint in the outside view? panning around behind the tower was rather limiting, easy in the inside view.

In fsx on the help menu choose keyboard assignments.

In the search box type eye and all the commands for shifting the view pot is listed.

To move up you need shift+enter. I always used to do this to sit right on top of the tower for a full 360 view.

If you know what you're doing consider editing the sim.cfg file fo the controll tower.

At the top change model as below to say
model=NoCab

so it looks like this.

[fltsim.0]
title=Tower Controller
sim=
model=NoCab

Next time you start in the tower you won't see any of the control tower interior.

I've used the IVAO client as well. Very detailed but I found it annoying you couldn't see planes with connecting on another machine.

Have you used the flight strip software yet? Be interesting in how you think it works. Tried to keep it simple but functional.

Dave
I have quite frequently used IVAC on one machine for the radar view.
Whilst running FS9/IVAO tower view and IVAI on the second.
Thus getting the radar on one machine whilst 'seeing' the AC on the ground on the other.
Needed it when I did a 'flyin' at Tahiti last year, I was tower and had an APP, but really could have done with a GND as well, I was unindated for over 2 hours. Needed 6 hands an 4 eyes!!!
It is the IVAI interface that does the job, it combines the two logins into one, which the IVAO servers see.
There are four 'tower views' 100/200/300/400 ft up. You just position your AC in front of the tower, and change to tower view (a modified AC file)

Will have a go at raising the view point, did try it, but it did not work in the outside view, only the inside view. It is the outside view I wanted to change, as I was panning around the back of the tower, with limited view of the apron. Needed to be on the roof!

I am still feeling my way around this software, so give me time. Think I will ditch ideas about Vatsim, their software is c**p.

Currently in training on IVAO for AIR control, and as they have changed the training field from Bristol to Luton, I have got to bone up on the procedures for there.

Frank, try editing the sim.cfg as I said so you always have an outside view.

It's possible I can write something to quickly move the eyepoint up 100,200,300,400 feet etc. By mistake I managed to get Heathrow tower to do 200 knots yesterday. Interesting to look out the window and see the North sea passing underneath!

Dave
Just tried the shift+enter, and moved the view point up and through the roof, not a bad view up there, bit chilly this time of year.
Will have a go at the edit, and see what it looks like.
Well, I had better start getting my E190 down for finals YBAS.
