CAZ WEBB  4th Mar 2010 00:39:18 | hi guys i understand from talking to dave that some of you are not entirely happy will my atc abilities, may i just say i do hold a airband radio license which i passed within the past few months, and ok my atc skills i admit are not of ifr flight and radar level but i have tried my best as an atc operator, i just wish some of you had come to me and point me in the right direction with my atc skills and not complained to dave wave. i must say to go moaning about someone behind their backs instead of have the courage to speak to that person yourself is un fair to the person you moan about. if you dont like what someone does then you should speak to that person first like an adult and not go tale telling like a bunch of kids, after all this is only a game is there for fun and is not real life so why should it matter to people that it is taken so literally and serious.
what im trying to say is lighten up a bit and take fsx as it was designed to be ........A GAME! and i apologise to dave wave and you all if you feel my atc skills are not on the level of some of the other atc guys on fs open but we can only do our best. SORRY TO ALL Gary Webb |
James Monckton   4th Mar 2010 16:57:19 | I wouldn't worry about it Gary. As stated on the website, people of all abilitys are welcome on fsopen. From my own experience I know how hard it is when you first start to pick everything up. Pilots should not be complaining about an ATCOs ability, they should check the website and look at the ability of the active ATCOs by looking at there rank. If they are only a level two then they shouldn't expect anything more.
Its unfair to new members like yourself who are still learning. Stick with it and you'll soon pick it all up, we still need a lot of ATCOs and I see Gary active most nights at Gatwick, be grateful that he spends his time trying to help Its the same as pilots we are more than happy to be patient with new pilots to help them while we are controlling, so intstead just correct them and move on. Lets keep it realistic and fun. I must get back to my economics lecture! James |

lets just say that i have spent months and months getting to the level that i am at today. i fully agree with you that all persons who have a problem in what you are doing should deal with you only to sort that problem out. my attitude is to get on with it and enjoy. regards PETE aka 122 and all please remember it is only a game. |

Yes all are welcome to FSopen. Yes we welcome all abilities. Gary has painted a rather one sided picture here. I don't feel I need or should discuss the detail from my side, partly becuase Gary no longer has the access to reply, partly becuase debates like this rarely end happily. Suffice to say I was subjected to 5 minutes of swearing and verbal abuse last night. At the end of this Gary offered to resign. I asked Gary to sleep on it and reconsider. He said no and Gary is no longer part of FSopen. On behalf of the managers we now consider this closed. |
