Hi,

Anyone using Windows 7 - do you run FSX with any compatability settings?

I usually just Run As Administrator, and as i was doing ATC tonight that hole lot crashed (even flight stip) rest of the PC was fine.

Any ideas?!
Many Thanks, Dale.

Dale.

I use windows 7 (32 bit). I don't run in any mode other than the 'default' as it was installed.

I do have to say that FSX frequently hangs and/or crashes when in ATC mode. I don't have any issues when flying. I'm not sure if it's something to do with FSX or the flightstrip software and how it connects to the server that Dave runs. I don't run the flightstrip software when flying so haven't any experience of how it behaves like that. There seems to be an issue with how people leave the game and if they just close their session rather than 'end flight' FSX does seem to hang for a while and maybe lots of people doing this causes it to crash. Like i said previously, I don't have the same problem when playing as a pilot.

Not sure if anyone else can give any more input/feedback but my personal experience is that 'it happens' and you have to live with it.

I run windows 7 and FSX tends to crash when clicking on buttons in cockpit or menu tabs .. seems to happen when you move along tabs/memu to fast and click on something or click on the edge of a button ... have even had the "not responding white screen FSX shutting down" at the gate when shutting down the flight .. very annoying esp when it is a FSXPax flight ... very rarely get a lockup and shutdown in flight when not using the mouse .... so thinking it is a mouse problem more than anything else.

Dale. That sounds just like what happens to me. Sometimes it comes back and sometimes (usually after about an hour) it doesn't.

I think you just have to live with it I'm afraid - if possible run FSX on one machine and run flightstrip and teamspeak on another. Seems to help a bit when I do that.
