Dave Wave ![]() 27th Mar 2010 00:47:59 | OK, no benchmarks or reviews for FSX out yet but I suspect this is the best video card available for fsx. Worldwide launch was at 7pm tonight.
If you find any info on this card post it here please. I know it's a £500 card but launches like this make every other card cheaper and this is what will be mainstream in a years time. See here for impartial review. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/geforce-gtx-480,2585.html |

I'd like to beef up my scenery and get much better frame rates than I do at present so as a bloke who knows about such things, what card would you recommend under say £200? I run Vista 32 bit with a Intel Core2 Quad CPU (Q6600@ 2.4 GHz) - No idea what any of that stuff means though :)

Nvidia GTX 260 around £150. However, I don't think this will have a massive effect in fsx as you'll then be bound by your processor and memory. If you play other pc games though it's probably worth it. I normally hold out on the upgrades and just buy a new pc every 2 years or so, that way you get a nicely balanced system and can still use your old one as a backup. You could also try overclocking your existing cpu and card. Details on how to do your gt9600 below. http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/overclock-graphics-card,review-30739-3.html?xtmc=nvidia_9600_gt&xtcr=5 I should think your cpu would run at 2.8 GHz no problem on your standard cooler. |
