Hi everyone,

I just wanted to introduce myself. I am 'simmer' as it were, flying FSX. I stumbled accross FSopen by mistake and i'm really glad I did!

I'm 27, I live in SE Essex around 40 minute drive from Stansted, 35 minutes from London City and I work about 500ft away from the end of Southend EGMC runway.

I have mainly fly PMDG MD-11 & CLS DC10 cargo flights and CLS 767 commercial flights across Europe. I currently use CLS birds as my flight time is limited these days, however I am just about to purchase the Level D 767.

I have a particular affection for UK2000 uk airports having purchased Gatwick, Stansted, Heathrow and Manchester.

Well that's me. I hope to meet you all soon,

Happy Flying,

Dave

David,

Finally a 'normal' PMDG pilot who flies MD-11's :)

I was starting to think I was the only one with all the 747 pilots on here.

Some of the UK2000 scenery is immense I agree, and the freeware versions are good, but some of the payware (I have got it for B'ham and Gatwick) is just outstounding.

Hope to see you on my TCAS at some time in the future,

Matthew

Welcome David.

Check out the forums and the upcoming events - there is usually at least one 'event' a week and ATC is provided most nights. There is an event on Sunday I think (landing competition) where you can get your pilot rating upgrading - depending upon performance of course.
Hope to see you online soon.

Hey thanks for all your kind comments and pointers.

Matthew - The Md-11 is a superb aircraft and the PMDG just makes it a joy to fly. Although being my first complex aircraft it took me alooong time to get my head around! But everything on the aircraft is stunning.

Topped off by me being able to see them occasionally landing at EGMC and making my office windows fall out. (Yes they have actually landed here..... great pilot skills on an otherwise rocky, un-even and slightly shorter runway!)

I also live about 2mls from Southend EGMC runway 06 end!. I saw the DC10! some years back now. I then went over to watch the other DC10 of the same (fleet) which turn'd up about a week latter, do 4-5 low approach and if i can remeber a tuch and go! Happy landing....Enjoy ;-D
